- Clarion University Small Business Development Center provides consulting services and educational programs to entrepenuers and existing small firms looking to start or grow a small business. List of classes and seminars can be found here. The Clarion SBDC Knowledgebase is a blog that pertains to starting, managing, and expanding small business.
- The Northwest PA Keystone Innovation Zone exists to link early stage companies with area university R & D teams to foster innovation, patent development, and technological advances. Tax credits and research grants are available to eligible companies in life sciences, clean and green technologies, IT, and advanced manufacturing industry sectors.
- Indiana University Safety Sciences Department helps businesses identify and address existing and potential safety issues in their workplace.
- Northwest Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center helps small and medium sized manufacturing companies to become more competitive in the world. The IRC helps these businesses improve their top and bottom lines.
- Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT is a Pennsylvania resource initiative begun in 2002 and designed to help your company apply e-business technology to business processes, increasing efficiency and making you more competitive.
- Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program supports technology-based economic development by helping Pennsylvania companies improve competitiveness by providing a limited amount of free technology assistance to help resolve specific technical needs.
- The Northwest Commission offers assistance with market expansion with exporting and government procurement.

- The Ben Franklin Partnership assists new and existing companies with technology development.
- The PA SourceNET, a service of the Business Resource Network, provides Pennsylvania businesses with supplier and sales leads, international trade leads and other information as a courtesy to visitors and enrollees. It is offered as a convenient, concise, up-to-date, assistance tool for companies pursuing domestic and international interests.
- The Pennsylvania Material Trader website, sponsored by the PA Department of Community and Economic Develoment and the US Small Business Administration, is a free service designed to help businesses find markets for materials they have traditionally discarded. Material Trader helps businesses, industries, and institutions save resources and money.
- The Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center serves as the keystone clearinghouse for recycling market development in Pennsylvania. The Recycling Markets Center is broadening horizons for merging economic development and environmental stewardship by creating demand for recycled material. This translates to cost reductions, increases in product sales, and job retention and creation, all of which contribute to Pennsylvania’s economy.
- The Pittsburgh Regional Business Coalition for Homeland Security is a non-profit, public/private partnership dedicated to assisting businesses in Western Pennsylvania prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters, technological disasters, or terror attacks. The Coalition's BECON program offers businesses a communication program that provides up to date disaster related information whenever that information can assist businesses with their planning, response or recovery from manmade or natural disasters.
